  • To engage Irish and West Africans in economic and business relationships and, to promote alternate development platform, providing incentives for cooperation and mutual development, specifically in the ECOWAS
  • IWABEC is the voice of business & economic development of West Africa in Ireland, providing a network for Irish and West African industry, state agencies, regional bodies and promoting bilateral and multilateral investment and trade.
  • To give full meaning to the opportunities inherent in the EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with ECOWAS and aid stakeholders in Ireland and West Africa to maximise the benefits of trade liberalisation.
  • To provide a suite of products and services to businesses and organisations in both Ireland and West Africa to enhance trade, investment and economic growth.
  • To be a forum for bodies in Ireland economically involved with West Africa and business network for Irish firms investing or trading with West Africa
  • To provide Irish links to the ECOWAS Institutions and, the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce, Mines, Industry & Agriculture (FWACCIMA) membership.
  • To foster stronger commercial ties between Ireland and West Africa by sponsoring trade and commercial delegations.
  • To promote the greater informed knowledge of both territories and be a responsible advocate of West African business and economic interests in Ireland.
